Irish Celebrates Birthday with Victory! - 8/14/10
The final table of the Little League World Series of Poker ended up being a marathon this month! When we
got down to the final six players, it looked like it would take a miracle to actually eliminate someone.
Ken Low returned to continue his final table streak while Steve Shuffleboy Pait played a strong game and came back
several times from a short stack to challenge for the money. Devastating Devin was able to outlast Steve
on the bubble, taking the fourth place spot.
Bonnie was a little harder to eliminate and in the span of about 30 hands, she was all in with pocket aces
three times! Irish eventually knocked Bonnie out with a weak ace vs. KQ and then only Chris Hill was left.
Head-to-head action lasted only two hands when Chris turned a wheel while Irish made his flush on the same
card.
We are down to the last four games of the season, so the points championship will tighten up as those with
eight games will be able to drop their lowest scores. Keep your eye on the points and good luck for everyone
shooting for a spot in the final eight!
Ben Eufemi is the New Chris Hill! - 7/10/10
If you weren't at table one at the beginning of the tournament this month, be happy! Table one was the
sole domain of Chris Hill and from all the talk at the table there was no way to defeat the Hill magic.
He had good karma, lots of mojo, a rabbit's foot, a magic mandala, and by the final table
he also had a monster stack!
Chris Hill's wall of chips was menacing but the final table brought a change in momentum and it wasn't long
before Ben Eufemi looked down to realize that he had taken over the lead. As players were eliminated, Ben's
immense stack grew to contain more than half of the chips in play! By the time head-to-head play began with Brian Garcia,
Ben simply flicked him to the rail with a lowly Q/2 offsuit. The rest of the players didn't have much of a chance
against the big stacks this month, but several players are already talking about revenge next month. The
August game will be on August 14th this month!
Bonnie Cashes Again, Winning The June Tournament - 6/05/10
Bonnie has been consistently finishing in the momney this year with a 4th, 3rd and 2nd place finish in
the first five months of the LLWSOP. This month, she was in the money once again, and as she faced Jim
South in head-to-head action, her first victory was within sight. The chip lead changed hands a few times
but Jim pushed the last of his chips in with A6 vs. Bonnie's K5 and a king on the flop gave her the
June victory.
Ken Low finally dropped a few spots on the points board but only because he was not able to attend this
month's game. It looks like we finally found a way to beat the man who has held the top spot for the
first half of the season! With six games in the books, we still have six more games to go, so the final
eight seats are still up for grabs!
Irish Steve Defeats Half Of Field on way to Victory - 5/01/10
In April, the Allen clan dominated the tournament with Amy and Mike taking the top two positions.
This month, it looked like the Edens would try to duplicate the effort with both Bonnie and Ed
making it to the final five players. As the bubble loomed, almost 45 minutes went by without an
elimination before Ed took the unlucky bubble spot. Jim South was the next player out and then
Chris Hill took third place. (What happened to Chis being happy about merely making the first
break?)
After eliminating almost half of the entire field, Irish Steve had one more opponent to beat
as head-to-head action began with Bonnie. With her third cash in five games Bonnie had momentum
but first place went to Irish when A/K took down the final hand.
