Brian Crews Starts Season With Victory! - 01/08/11

The January game began with our annual Final Eight Championship Game where the top points leaders sat down for one last tournament. Mike Allen was not able to take his seat for the game, so alternate Brian Crews took his place in the action. He was not able to take advantage of the opportunity though and final play ended up between Jim South and Ken Low. South was able to lock down the championship and bragging rights for the 2010 season.

After the Final Eight Game, it was time to begin our eigth season of the LLWSOP! A field of 28 players took their seats with hopes of a good start to the new season. Those hopes were almost ended for Brian Crews and Mike Dambach in the middle rounds when they both faced elimination from powerful hands. Mike faced two overpairs, including pocket aces, with K/J, while Brain was in a similar situation with 9/10.

Both players flopped just the right cards to stay alive and then it was time for them to mix that momentum with enough skill to make it to the final table. Despite a big stack from Gina and Dan's recent top finishes, Brian and Mike faced each other head-to-head with Brian taking the top spot.
