Poker Gods Punish Ed, Reward Monty! - 02/06/16
If you play poker long enough, you learn that eventually, you're going to take a beating. Some are worse than others, but if you play the game, it's going to happen to you. For Ed Edens, February 6th was his night to take a poker beating. After making it down to the money, Ed got all-in with K/K vs. Monty's A/J. The board rewarded Ed with another king, but as the turn and river hit the table, four hearts were showing and Monty had the ace of hearts. After a quick sprint from the room, Ed returned to go all-in again with Monty and this time Ed had 5/5. His hand improved again with a river 5, but there were three clubs on board and when Monty revealed his hand, the king and queen of clubs completed Ed's demise! Not long after, Mike Bell landed in second place when his set of 8's ran into Monty's flopped straight. It was Monty's night to deliver the poker pain!
