Damon Wins While Dave Bluffs Himself! - 7/09/11
It looked like Stacey Adam was going to win the July LLWSOP. From the beginning of the game she had all the momentum,
showing down winning hands all the way to the final table. Play slowed once the cash bubble was broken and Stacy's
big stack eventually carried her to an amazing third place finish for the new player.
The big story for July came during the final hand of head-to-head action between Damon Rivera and
Dave Sigua. After seeing a flop, Dave announced all-in and was quickly called by Damon. Dave then stated that he held two-pair,
and when he turned his cards over, everyone in the room leaned over the table with puzzled looks. Not only did he not have
two-pair, but he also didn't have one pair. In reality, he showed an off-suit 7/4 for a simple seven high, while Damon displayed
the real two-pair holding of queens and sixes.
Plenty of players were still on the rail for this final hand and some of them thought that Dave might have played the cards
that he held in his previous hand. He might have also imagined a good hand and played it all in his mind. There's also
the possibility that he had x-ray vision and he played Damon's hand out of pure envy. Either way, Dave gave us the
best blow-up of the year as the "Duck of Death" took down the July tournament.
