South Avoids Re-entry and Wins! - 06/08/13

Jim South was eliminated before the first break last month, but that did not end his game as he rode a re-entry into second place money. Even with the cash, Jim was unhappy that he did not gain many points despite the good finish. He even threw himself off of his bike in a sad attempt to gain attention and support for his plight. When that ploy failed, he sat down at the June tournament and managed to avoid the re-entry on his way to a first place finish!

Jim didn't have easy competition when the final table was seated and he had to contend with some players who have been on a roll in recent months. Not only did LA! manage a fourth place finsih, but she is also tied for first place on the overall points board. Jay Wiley landed in third, following a satellite win and a run at the WPT in San Jose. Adonna was his last competitor, and she was coming off of a win in her last LLWSOP tournament.

Jim South came out on top when head-to-head play concluded and Adonna secretly told me that she went easy on him because she felt bad that he didn't get that many points in May. Now that he's feeling better, we can all enjoy the fact that the big, juicy bounty will be on his head in July (and the rest of us don't care if he gets points or not!)
